Knights Shine in the 2016 Rising Stars Soccer Tournament

The Knights definitely came to play on Friday and Saturday, April 8 & 9, 2016.

The eight-team Montgomery Catholic Rising Stars Soccer Tournament allowed every team to play three games on their way to qualification for the championship game late Saturday.  The Knights made a great showing and earned their way to the big game.

Their first match, against Auburn at 5:30 PM Friday night, ended in a 3-3 tie.  Goals were scored by Rhys Holifield, Judd Osten and Parker Hardegree.

On Saturday, they started tournament play with an 8:30 AM game against Montgomery Academy.  The final was 1-1 with Rhys Holifield scoring on a PK.

After lunch, they went against Marbury at 1:30 PM and shut them out 8-0.  Scoring for the Knights was Judd Osten (2), Chad Waite (2), Parker Hardegree (2) and Rhys Holifield (2).

The team’s performance qualified them for a championship matchup against Trinity where they lost 1-3 with Parker Hardegree scoring on a PK.

It was a great weekend of great play and great sportsmanship.  All players, parents and friends should be proud.

Way to go Knights!
