Both Varsity teams played their Second Round Playoff game on Tuesday, May 2, 2017.
The Varsity Girls traveled to Mobile to face the Faith Academy Rams and lost 1-2. Their goal was scored by Ale Vazquez off a throw in from Lauren Smith. Goal Keeper Lauren Beverly had 13 saves.
The Varsity Boys hosted the St. Paul’s Saints and lost 2-4. Goals were scored by Ethan Ronan (1) and Jonathan Doan (1). Assisting those goals were Daniel Reeves (1) and Ethan Ronan (1). Goal Keeper Sully Fralish had his hands full with 9 saves, including one off a Penalty Kick. The Boys finish the season with a best-ever record of 19-5-1.
This was overall the best season ever for the entire MCPS soccer program. We may not have made the quarterfinals but all the players have much to be proud of. And we all need to thank our coaches for their tireless effort and help in shaping the program into what it has become.
